Good God, I didn’t know Mike’s parents got swatted also (or close enough to it). I cannot wait for the the persons responsible to be held accountable.

If anyone needed a reminder of just how sleazy these people are, there it is.

I hadn’t heard this before or the other call. That’s not a woman or an electronically disguised voice, in my opinion. So I’d leave JG off the list as MAKING the call, based on hearing this.

It doesn’t sound at all like Ron to me, either. Not even disguising his voice.

Does the Patterico swatting call sound like this? Do we know?

    • 3 sarahw April 28, 2012 at 10:56 AM

I hadn’t heard this before, (and felt ill for some time after.)

That said, Hubs was less impressed. He walked in the room as I played it a second time, had no idea what I was listening to, and asked “What is that – a fake 911 call?” Jaw drop – I’m not sure what tripped that thought. If I were a dispatcher it would sound to me like a a flat-effect stoner/drunk/mental patient who had murdered someone.

He has an ear for voices I do not, and talent for mimicry I do not, and must have heard something I can’t hear – obviously he’s right, it was a fake call. How he picked that up I can’t tell.

There were a number of folks by that time very desperately wanting to believe that Weiner had been victim to some nefarious conservative plot instead of his own skeevery, and anxious to punish. I wouldn’t rule out a JG connection at all – but maybe that kind o’ grudge could account a the swat caller. The Mediate fail must have been a big embarrassment and disappointment.

What do you mean ‘fake call’? Could mean a couple of different thing…

Also for Mike – why is this redacted?

      • 5 TCW April 28, 2012 at 12:10 PM

Nothing is redacted…I will put up the whole call, but the dispatcher is really only heard. The caller is very low ..The quality was bad, so we isolated the caller.
Will get the whole thing up today.

      • 6 sarahw April 28, 2012 at 12:03 PM

He meant it in the sense someone was putting the dispatcher on. That the person was inventing the emergency.

      • 7 sarahw April 28, 2012 at 12:05 PM

I also think something of this nature…..that the person was trying to sound as if he were a character.

      • 8 sarahw April 28, 2012 at 12:08 PM

I also wondered why the call was redacted. I read very recently – the last day or two – that three police departments were sent out to find mike – or that there were three addresses provided.

I wasn’t really sure whether this meant three calls were made, or three separate addresses were given in the same call..

      • 9 TCW April 28, 2012 at 12:18 PM

Two departments came to the address that the caller claimed that I was at. That was the address that was plastered all over the internet by the Smoking Gun and by many rogue assholes.
I did not live there any longer, nor had I for three years at that point.
The police looked up my last address, which they went to, and surprise!, it was my parents house. My parents were greeted by police cars and pounding on the doors and doorbells ringing.
My parents let them in and assured them that 1., I did not live there, 2. That I was not nor was I ever married, and 3., I did not own a firearm.
The police then looked up ANOTHER address. My current one. The rest of the story can be found on this blog.
35 police, traveling at high-speeds, address to address, town to town, all because some f-in moron(s) want to play games and try to scare me.
This is why I am getting to the bottom of this. I have been honest and forthright about EVERY detail.

      • 10 stranahan April 28, 2012 at 12:38 PM

What Mike describes is what I heard from him months ago.

      • 11 sarahw April 28, 2012 at 12:08 PM

Trying to sound as if he were a character = acting.

      • 12 sarahw April 28, 2012 at 1:03 PM

Thanks for taking the time to explain about the addresses, Mike. What I had read was not very clear at all.

for all the good it does you, I was very distressed on your behalf. And the officers. And your parents. And the rest of humanity, really. The complete depravity and lack of conscience such an act required… to no purpose at all.

Raw Story resentment, some half-assed Ntrepid program, a nutty woman – I’ve got not more clue what happened that I did a year ago. But whoever did this isn’t even a human being.

      • 13 ronbrynaert April 28, 2012 at 4:33 PM

        SaraW,

I’d love to hear more about the “Raw Story resentment” theory.

I’ve actually been helping Mike try to figure out who SWATted him. And – unlike your pals – help Mike go after the “dangerous Dem operative” that Jen Preston “warned” me about last June but misspelled as Neil R.

Meanwhile, Patterico and Dustin and Noodles have outright smeared me for ten months as the one who did it (check the 3,750 thread for countless comments from all 3 alleging I’m behind it all or helped etc. http://patterico.com/2011/06/30/someone-smarter-than-me-explain-why-this-is-not-possible

Why are you talking about “talent for mimicry”? Seems “strange and weird” to me.

The caller sounds like a 4chan punkster or a Howard Stern prankster…and since he sent cops to the wrong address the police should have realized that there was something fake about it. But it doesn’t sound like anyone is disguising their voice to me. He has some kind of accent. Perhaps someone knows an accent expert like in “The Inside Man” : a movie referenced before in Weinergate I know.

      • 14 ronbrynaert April 28, 2012 at 4:38 PM

“There were a number of folks by that time very desperately wanting to believe that Weiner had been victim to some nefarious conservative plot instead of his own skeevery, and anxious to punish.”

        That’s absurd.

Weiner resigned already. I don’t remember anyone saying anything like that in the weeks after The New York Times reported story I worked on proving teens were fake. Please explain why you wrote that. And name some of this “number of folks.”

    • 15 ronbrynaert April 28, 2012 at 4:44 PM

wow… I didn’t realize your parents told the police that you were never married and they knew that the caller strangely didn’t know his own address but they still were so harsh to you as opposed to the more gentle SWATting I heard on June 30-July 1. And that person claimed he was a blogger when he was allegedly swatted, not a deputy district attorney.

I still don’t understand why no one leaving comments on this blog didn’t have enough curiosity about these events nine months ago…and why they’re still not asking Patterico about anything…

  3. 16 Noodles April 27, 2012 at 11:04 PM

Idk why people think this is Ron? He has adamantly denied it is him. He is also all about the truth. I’m pretty sure he would read the transcript of this on a Youtube video to punk all the hoaxers and haxors.

I also think he would be more than willing to do an interview on camera (so we can move on and find the real hoaxer). It’s time to clear Ron’s name!

    • 17 Qritiq April 28, 2012 at 12:24 AM

Noodles – I think you did it, so I think you should post a youtube video of yourself reading the transcript, to prove me wrong and clear your name.

After all, there’s just as much evidence that you, Noodles, did the swat as there is that Ron did it.

      • 18 Noodles April 28, 2012 at 12:40 AM

        I’ll get right on that.

Anyway, I think Jeff Lynne is a genius. Not really my thing, but I have been checking out a lot of his stuff the last couple of days. I like the part in “Mr. Blue Sky” where the keyboardist uses that voice changer.

    • 19 TCW April 28, 2012 at 8:35 AM

It almost sounds like Patterico being channeled through you, Noodles.
In my opinion, Ron has nothing to prove . If 3000 miles away they’ve cracked the case, let me know.

      • 20 Noodles April 28, 2012 at 11:15 AM

Sometimes I do sheepish things, but I am no toady. You can rest assured that all opinions are my own.

I am not a renowned researcher like Ron, but I have studied his methodology. I’m surprised Jen Preston hasn’t been doxed yet. It seems Ron might have missed an opportunity to “find the hoaxer”.

      • 21 TCW April 28, 2012 at 12:01 PM

I gotcha Noodles. Jen dropped out of the limelight, huh?? Dropped the whole thing….Hmmmmm

I’d be looking for Mike Judge.

Leave it to a metrosexual; no balls. Real men SWAT themselves
